Nicholaus Barker, FMS Level 1, Sports Performance Coach
Coach Nick is from Washington Township, NJ and grew up in South Jersey competing in multiple sports including baseball, basketball, and soccer. He has always enjoyed all types of physical activity, however, his real passion for performance and fitness was ignited during his junior year in high school when he battled through an unfortunate shoulder dislocation which ended his season and limited his participation in organized sports from there on out. This experience exposed him to the opportunities that existed in the performance and rehabilitation fields. Nick attended Rowan University and graduated summa cum laude with a major in Health and Exercise Science. He believes that his experiences as a student athlete along with his studies have prepared him to fill a gap or serve as a role model that will help all athletes better prepare themselves for the obstacles they may face. Coach Nick states, “I want to be the person that can provide an excellent experience not just physically but mentally and emotionally. Having once been an athlete, I can sympathize with all the challenges an athlete may face, and now as a coach, I want to help athletes achieve whatever challenges and goals they have for themselves.” Nick has a voracious appetite for continuing education and recently completed the Functional Movement Systems Level One course.
